Winter has come but that doesn’t mean you have to stop going out for daily walks with your baby. In fact, going out every day helps him grow, and is good for him physically, socially and in a sensorial way.
In Nordic countries, an outdoor nap forms part of children’s daily routine. Far from being a recent fashion, the tradition of the “Nordic siesta” comes from a long time ago and the reason behind it is quite simple: those who defend it say that children who take a nap outdoors are less likely to catch a cold, and they rest longer and better.

- Sleeping bags
There are different kinds, depending on how old your baby is and the kind of buggy or pushchair you take him out in. There is, for example, the universal sleeping bag (suitable for all models of buggies), the star-shaped sleeping bag (with legs and sleeves) and the +0 sleeping bag (ideal for newborn babies).
The most important thing is that the outside of the sleeping bag should be made of an insulating and waterproof material, to stop any damp from getting in.
As for the lining, natural, breathable and at the same time soft and warm materials are ideal.
- Quilts
Just as with sleeping bags, the size depends on the kind of pushchair or buggy your baby uses, and on his age. Choose one that is easy to use, and which can be adjusted to the pram with ribbons or elastic, resistant and warm to the touch.
- Hoods
If you combine a hood with the quilt, the result is ideal. It’s really important that they ventilate well, so you have the best possible air inside the pram and avoid excessive humidity.
- Baby bags
Essential for hanging on the pram and taking with you everything your baby might need when you go out: nappies, wipes, … If you choose a waterproof model, it will be easier to clean.
