Washing children’s clothes is a simple task, although you do have to take certain precautions. At PAZ Rodríguez we recommend washing in cold water, with a neutral washing powder and no fabric softeners. Many garments have specific conditions for washing inside out, drying flat… but what we would like to do today is talk about special care to get a perfect wash and avoid allergies on the delicate skin of your baby.

A baby’s skin is very delicate and so we would recommend washing baby clothes separately for the first few months. Using detergents with strong aromas and additives can be harmful for them, as they always try to put everything in their mouths.

  • The washing powder

On all our labels we recommend washing our garments with neutral detergent, specifically for baby clothes and delicate garments. The fewer chemical agents you bring into contact with your baby’s skin, the better. Avoid using fabric softeners as far as possible, as they might cause a rash or an allergy.

  • The washing mode

The garment itself defines which method is best: washing by hand or in the washing machine. In general, both options are good. In any case, the most important part is rinsing, getting rid of all remains of the detergent. As baby clothes are very small, if we wash them in the washing machine we can use a reduced load programme.

  • Delicate garments

Embroidery, lace and sensitive fabrics such as organza and tulle suffer from washing, and so it is a good idea to wash them by hand to stop them from getting spoiled.

What do you think? It’s really easy! If you follow these simple tips your clothes will last longer, and what is more important, the risk of allergy will be significantly reduced. At the end of the day, it’s everybody’s job to take care of your baby’s delicate skin.
