Going out with your baby might look like mission impossible. It should be easy, but it isn’t. Getting organized, being on time and not forgetting anything is a real challenge. We’ll try and give you some tips on the blog today to make it easier for you. Don’t miss a stitch!
Every time you go out, no matter how near home you are, you have to take everything your baby could need. We would recommend making a list and checking it before you go out for the first few weeks, so you won’t forget anything you have included … but what should we include on the list?
- Various nappies: during the day you will have to change your baby several times. Take enough nappies with you to avoid them rubbing against his skin and producing nappy rash.
- Protective cream:if your little one suffers from nappy rash you should take cream for his bottom to cure it. Remember that this cream is not for use every single day, but only when your baby actually has nappy rash.
- Changer: this will come in very handy to lay your baby down on and so you won’t have to put him on a hard cold surface to change his nappy. You should take a changer with you for both indoors and outdoors – they are very practical and hardly take up any room. At PAZ Rodríguez we have a wide range of changers, with insides made of washable plastic, especially for babies.
- Baby wipes: you will use wipes when you change your baby’s nappy but also to clean his hands, legs and even his clothes.
- Dummy:if your baby uses a dummy he will need one to go to sleep and when he just can’t stop crying. Don’t forget a dummy case for when he isn’t using it, it will stop it from getting dirty.
- Food: if you don’t know how long you are going to be out, take plenty of food for when your baby gets hungry. Nowadays you can get practical containers that separate all the different amounts you will need.
- Muslin or wadding: you should include some in the baby bag as it is very useful, both for covering your baby if you are breast feeding him or for when you are getting him to burp.
All children are different and their parents know better than anyone else what they need and what they like most to calm them down. Toys, perioral cream, teething rings … the list will be longer or shorter depending on how old your baby is.
In addition to taking everything we need we should also take certain precautions:
- It is advisable to cover the heads of newborn babies with a bonnet or a hat, both in winter and in summer.
- In the autumn and winter we should take an extra blanket.
- In spring and summer we should make sure they are not directly in the sunlight, so take a practical parasol with you.
- Try to go to quiet areas with little traffic, and as far as possible with little contamination.
Have you prepared your list? Or do you always have your baby bag ready? Don’t worry – in time you won’t need to check the list because you’ll have everything under control. Enjoy your children!
