Christmas is just around the corner. Our streets have been decorated for some days now with wreaths of lights, the shop windows have their trees and cribs, and the mass media are suggesting presents to surprise our loved ones with.
Children are waiting for Father Christmas and the three Wise Men to come, although what they really want is no doubt to enjoy more time with their families: going out with their parents, seeing their grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins … and having a rest from kindergarten or school.
We would like to propose some ideas for enjoying Christmas with children, so you can make the most of this magical time of year.
Take note of our suggestions and have a great time with the family!
- Weekend in the snow
A country hotel in the hills, with your family inside, a huge fireplace to warm the room up and make it even cosier, and if possible, a deep snowfall outside. You could make this part of a few days at one of the over 30 ski stations in our country. If your child is 4 or older, it’s a good age for them to start learning how to ski. Remember to wrap them up well, protect them against possible falls, and don’t forget suntan lotion, lip balm, and sunglasses.
- An afternoon at the cinema
If your little one is 6 or older, this is a really great idea. At this time of year there are plenty of films for the whole family to see all together at the cinema.
- City camps
If you can’t take any days off work over the holidays and you haven’t got anyone to lend you a hand looking after your children, did you know that in many places there are city Christmas camps? There is a very wide range; by way of example, you will find numerous options at LittleVigo if you live in this area. And there are similar camps in many other cities.
- Journey to Disneyland Paris
An ideal option if you have more days free than just the weekends. Your children will never forget this magical trip and you yourself will feel like a child again.

- Christmas markets
There are Christmas markets in most cities. Make the most of it to buy typical desserts and presents or to go ice-skating. Your children will have a great time, and so will you! So whether you are a child or a grown-up, you have no excuse for not enjoying yourself this Christmas!
