Preparing a trip with children is usually more difficult than when it’s just for adults. Parents don’t like leaving things to chance and tend to pack as if they were going to a desert island. When packing, what we hear time and again is … “well, just in case”.
For many people just thinking about travelling with children is exhausting; especially when they are very young. So today we’ll tell you, stitch by stitch, some great places to go with children this summer and enjoy some well-deserved days of rest and fun with all the family, and help you get ready for an incredible experience.
Summer destinations where you can go with children
Enjoying nature
In this section you’ll find endless places of different kinds
Natural or adapted spaces with semi-free animals, like Cabárceno in Cantabria or the Castillo de Las Guardas in Seville, two options that will thrill your little animal-lovers. Both of them are recovered mining areas, the former an old iron ore mine while Las Guardas was in its time a copper mine. They were both turned into large nature reserves, part of the struggle to preserve species.
Another interesting option are animal farms which organize group visits, and where children can join in taking care of some of the animals. Just imagine your son or daughter bottle feeding a goat’s kid or milking a cow.
If you’re into hiking and need to rediscover nature, there are child-friendly routes. It will be a great adventure for them. A route map, a compass so you don’t get lost along the way and a notebook to sketch and note down things that catch their attention, and your hike will turn into an unforgettable adventure.
When they are a little bit older, you will be the coolest mother or father in all the galaxy if you take them diving with dolphins. Find the safest and most comfortable places to go with children and they won’t easily forget it.
Head for some fun at an amusement park
There are plenty of amusement parks in Spain. Water parks are great fun for both children and adults in the summer, but you won’t go far wrong with amusement parks either. There are amusements for all ages in all of them, shows and a whole lot of fun. If you’re into adrenalin and challenging the laws of physics, the roller-coaster is the ideal option.
Let’s go to the beach
If you live inland and you don’t have too many chances to get to the beach, the summer holidays are a good chance to get to the seaside and enjoy playing on the sand in the sun.
Find beaches that are suitable for children, somewhere where there is no danger. The open sea is not a good idea, it’s better to avoid large waves – beaches with fine sand and easy access are much easier. You’ll just love watching your little ones paddling in the sea and building sand castles together.
Hotels with children’s clubs
If what you really want is to totally disconnect from your daily routine and not have to worry about anything at all, a great option are hotels with lots of facilities, swimming pools, areas for playing, shows and a children’s club.
Children love this kind of plan. They are normally hotels with swimming pools adapted to all ages and where they organize loads of activities to keep children entertained, help them make new friends and spend time playing sport, learning handicraft and going to shows where laughs are guaranteed.
So don’t just sit there – get ready for the summer holidays with your little ones.
